ABOUT
Floodlight is the passion project of three people; one 5th year students and two graduates.
We want to explore the perceptions people hold, both young and old, towards topics of emerging interest in our melting pot of a world. From funny to deadly, no topic is beyond discussion, dissection and debunking.
Funded by the generosity of the Susan Wakil legacy, we hope to champion the compassion, conversation and hunger for knowledge that so categorised Susan’s life.
SEASON 1 - STIGMA
Each episode takes the listener through unique and interesting stigmas that will make you question, laugh out loud and maybe get a little steamy...We think that by busting some of the myths out there we can highlight how incredibly human it is to be different and hopefully help people feel a little more confident in their own 'stigma'.
IT'S JUST A PHASE.
Bi-sexuality has always been a hot topic (and no, no that kind of H-O-T). Often Bi-sexual people face damaging stereotypes which create a stigma around bi-sexuality. This stigma can discourage bi-sexual people from coming out leading to under representation and an even bigger stigma.
With this episode we seek to give a platform and stage to bi student/ young adults to discuss those struggles, in an attempt to educate and encourage a safer more accepting community irrespective of sexual preferences.
